Rules. Conversion of mixed numbers to improper fractions.

- A mixed number can be converted to an improper fraction in three steps:
- Multiply the whole number part by the fraction's denominator.
- Add that to the numerator.
- The resulting sum is the numerator of the new (improper) fraction, with the denominator remaining the same in both the mixed number and the improper fraction.
